Boarding & Training
Lamoreaux Ridge Equestrian Center is owned by Sean and Carrie Lamoreaux and operated by Karin Schmidt. It is aimed at serving the West Michigan community with high-quality care for your horse. Our focus is to offer riders a calm, relaxing environment in which to enjoy time with their horse. Life is stressful enough, time at the barn should not be. All disciplines are welcome! We are home to 23 horses of different breeds.

Full board is $350. This includes:

2 hay feedings and 2 grain feedings per day
Daily stall cleaning
Free trailer storage
Nightly bard checks (owners live on site) & security cameras

Our horses are turned out daily (weather permitting) to ensure happy, healthy horses. We feed grain/hay twice daily with a late night security check. For added security, we have a security camera in the barn and the owners live right on the property prevent both tack and horse theft. We feed high quality feed and will evaluate the particular needs of each horse to select the right product on an individual basis. We will feed owner supplied supplements at no extra charge and have a Barn Buddy code with Smartpak for reduced shipping charges if you get your supplements shipped right to the barn.
Training
Karin's special expertise is building confidence and trust in horses and in their human friends--no matter how old the horses are or how they were treated previously. She uses techniques of natural and logical horsemanship, establishing consequent leadership with lots of patience. Karin is an expert in teaching ground manners and lunging the German way, which she calls "riding with remote control". De-spooking/bomb-proofing and trailer loading training is done by request. Karin's riding is based on dressage and on the "Training Scale" (Relaxation, Rhythm, Contact, Impulsion, Straightness, and Collection).
